Sports nutrition science field has a short, 50-year, research history and continues to grow rapidly. In accordance with the Olympic motto Citius, Altius, Fortius (faster, stronger, higher), the traditional research focus of sports nutrition is to maximize the athlete’s performance. With this perspective, many researchers working in the field conduct research on the optimal amount of energy, fluid, macro, and micronutrients, and supplements that athletes need during training, competition, and recovery, as well as nutritional strategies that can improve training adaptation.
In recent years, the interest in sports nutrition and the number of researchers working in this field have increased in our country. In 2014, Division of Exercise Nutrition and Metabolism was established for the first time at Hacettepe University, Faculty of Sports Sciences. We continue our journey by creating this platform in collaboration with our graduate students to convey the reliable information in the field to every segment.
This web page was, particularly, designed for sports nutritionists, dietitians, trainers/coaches, and other professionals working in the fields of sport and nutrition, and students who want to improve themselves in this subject. Thus, the aim of the web page is to bridge the gap between research and practice by providing the information on the most basic and current issues in the field.
As the Exercise Nutrition Family, we are glad to meet you with our short papers and webinars!
